A Note from Future Me

The words "A Note From Future Me" over the image of a fountain pen on a blank sheet of paper

Hey Past Me.

Guess what? You did it. You finished Ink and Waves. The Elemental Artist series is complete. Four books. Four! (Plus that gorgeous prequel short story.)

Take a moment. Breathe it in.

I know, it’s hard to believe from where you’re sitting, but I promise: the end is real, and it’s amazing. I’m experiencing your future, and so, so proud of what you’ve accomplished.

Remember, you’ve already done the hardest part! You’ve written the manuscript and revised the novel.

That’s huge.

This isn’t a blank page we’re talking about. It’s a nearly finished novel waiting for you to do the part you actually like. You love shaping messy drafts into living stories. And you’ve done it three times before. You know the rhythm of it: the satisfaction of pulling threads tight, polishing a clunky sentence until it sings, and rediscovering the heart of the story. This is where the magic clicks into place.

Yes, it’s a lot. But you’re almost done. Soon, you’ll close this chapter—literally—and let these characters go. It’ll be a little heartbreaking, sure. But also joyful. Fulfilling. You’ll look at your shelf and see the complete Elemental Artist series, built word by word over years of perseverance, love, and stubborn creativity.

And your readers? They love the ending. They feel seen, satisfied, maybe even a little inspired. You gave them the story they’ve been waiting for.

So go on. Open that manuscript. You’re closer than you think.

Love,

Future You

(p.s., I wrote this letter to you from the finish line, and yes, we’re happy crying a little. So get it done, girl!)
