My Fantasy Library

As a fiction author, I do plenty of world building in my stories, but it’s still fun to build places like a fantasy library in my imagination.

To start, I’d build my fantasy library extra tall, so I could have two stories of stories.

I’d make it long enough to incorporate a spiral staircase at one end,

and I’d make each level tall enough to justify a library ladder!

Library Vibes

It would have plenty of cozy reading nooks,

plus squashy chairs to snuggle into,

with plenty of space for a hot beverage and snacks.

My fantasy library would need a nice big table for when I need to spread my research out,

and a fireplace for cozy vibes.

I’d want it to have lots of windows to let in natural light,

and so I could enjoy the views.

It would have skylights through which I could watch the rain fall,

and to keep my houseplants happy.

Plus, my fantasy library would open onto a courtyard garden for outdoor reading when the weather is nice.

Room to Share

My fantasy library wouldn’t be complete without cozy places for my furry,

and feathered babies to sleep.

It would always have enough shelf space,

and of course, I’d shelve the books the right way so I could see the titles. (Who does this??)
